For those of you that have known me for a while, you know I've always told the girls there was no way they were ever going to color their hair. Other people pay to get their hair the color the girls already have. So I'm sure it will probably come as a surprise that I let Caitlin color hers. Actually, it's one pink streak and it's the bottom layer behind her ear. We tried doing it without bleaching her hair first, (twice) and that didn't work so I finally gave in and bleached the streak first. I have to say I like it!
Ashtyn decided she wanted a blue streak on the opposite side, but did NOT want her hair bleached first. Needless to say, it didn't come out the way she envisioned. It's more of a greenish hue, and not very attractive. But it's temporary!

I love Christmas. And it looks like the weather is cooperating and we'll be getting snow today! How cool is that. Yes, there are times when I miss Ohio. The girls get to put the angel on the tree each year, and odd numbered years are Ashtyn's. We've found it's easier to do it before you decorate!

I think our mantel looks so much better this year since Matt finished the remodel!

We had some warm days lately, so the Matt put the lights up shortly after Thanksgiving. He complains about doing it every year, but he's said a couple times this week that he wants to ADD some next year!
With Max being full grown this year, he can jump higher, unfortunately! He knocked a couple of the stocking holders off the mantel, and Mrs. Claus lost a foot. I went to Target and bought a pair that I THOUGHT would be too heavy for him to knock off. I wish. Matt may have to fabricate a piece to fix my holder if we can't find the one that went flying the first time Max knocked it off. Sometimes kids are easier than cats!

I've tried some new things this year in the way of goodies. I never knew how easy peppermint bark is to make! Yum! And I made some cinnamon hard candy that I haven't had in about 25 years. The recipe still works! I tried making my traditional overnight cookies with margarine. I had to start over. If a recipe says "butter" it doesn't mean you can try margarine!

The girls had some amazing pictures taken yesterday, but I don't have them on my computer yet. We're giving Matt a couple as Christmas presents so Caitlin took the package to her room. Since it's only 7:35 am, you know she's still asleep! When I went in to kiss the girls good night, they were both in Caitlin's room watching "We Are Marshall". Sometimes I think they really might end up as friends!

Speaking of movies, here's a few I've seen recently that I liked:
The Proposal
My Sister's Keeper (but the ending was NOTHING like the book!)
Julie and Julia (Meryl Streep never ceases to amaze me)
Sunshine Cleaning
Made of Honor
Bride Wars
Confessions of a Shopaholic

Matt and I watched Five Fingers last night. Somehow it was recommended on Netflix, so I put it on our queue. That was one of the most disturbing movies I've seen in a long time!

I have errands to run today, so I better get moving. People in Texas are crazy when it comes to driving in snow. Maybe I'll take Caitlin to the church parking lot and let her learn how to drive out of a fishtail! I still remember taking my brother to our high school lot and teaching him. Nothing like learnin
g to make donuts in the snow!

Merry Christmas to all! When you say your prayers, remember the men and women serving in our military!
