This chimpanzee jumped at Ashtyn while she was standing at the window. They proceeded to play punch the window at each other's hand for about half a minute. Ashtyn got the biggest kick out of that!
It was hot, but there were enough clouds that we weren't miserable. We were only there for about 2 1/2 hours and saw almost all the exhibits. We skipped the herpaterium and the giraffes, elephants and hippos. The tiger cubs from last year are gone, but there are four lion cubs that are about a year old. They're almost as big as mom. Dad was roaring about 5 minutes before we got to his exhibit. For those of you that have never been to the FW Zoo, his enclosure has a 30 foot rock wall in the back that echoes his roars. You can hear him all over the zoo. Pretty cool to listen to. Anyway, he started roaring again as we were walking out of the park. Figures!Thursday is the big day for Caitlin. We got all the paper work together that we need to take with us to the DPS office. Once band camp starts the first Monday in August, I'm going to wish she had her own car and could drive by herself. Most days the band practices THREE times. Luckily some of them are inside working on music, but they spend a lot of time out in the sun and heat. Glad it isn't me.
